Study of Daily Calorie Expenditures of Korean Salarymen

Abstract
|
|
|
These studies were undertaken to determine the daily calorio expenditures of korean white-collar workers.
The subjects were selected at random from a table of time-motion study made on 52 male and 43 female bank clerks whose activities were perfomed in on office.
These studies were made on three different days,one full working day (a week day),one half working day (Saturday),and one full holiday (Sunday).
A Complete study was made on each woman.
As shown on table 2-6 calorie metabolism per minute throughout 24 hour activities is recorded on the attached chart,and itemized according to different activities.
Since there are no data obtained from the individual examinations,they were quoted from the reports given by Passmore and Durnin,Consolazio,Johnson and Pecora,and Morehouse and Miller.
Average values of the differente sexes during the three days of studies are shown on Table 7.
Since the average value is higher on male workers than female,we can conclude the activity rate is higher among males than among females.
